From the copy and paste press release department. Hi Nancy. Would it surprise you to know that if we all ate out just one more time a week, we’d pump $118 million [ed. note: billion ] back into the economy over the course of a year? We learned that, and a lot of other surprising info about the connection between the restaurant industry and the overall economy – which led our agency down the path of creating a video that we’re just crazy enough to think might encourage a few folks to chan
Founder, the Creativity Network PHOTO by JOHN GILHOOLEY “If you can figure out what I do for a living, you can let me know,” jokes former longtime E! Entertainment Network producer Antonio Ruiz (photographed here inside the studio of artist Michael Stearns). That’s easy—sort of. Y ou do a lot of questionable things with a few beers in you walking down Boston’s Commonwealth Ave. at 3 a.m. Sometimes you think it’s good idea to down a giant 5-dollar sausage from Che-Chi’s or piss in a public alleyway… I don’t know, sometimes it just makes sense. It was one of those nights, and my friends and I were butchering an impromptu version of ‘Knife.’ We decided that it wasn’t even a song, but a movement. Then I saw them live for the first time at Bonnaroo, covered in sweaty filt

The theme was a bit different on “The Next Iron Chef” yesterday than it was last week. Last week, you’ll remember, the chefs had to create meals with some, you know, delicacies. Yesterday’s episode featured the idea of making more with less–simplicity. And that’s a theme that a really great chef can do a lot with. For the initial challenge, each chef had to make something with a cooking vessel that they might not necessarily use normally–tagines, steamer pots, Mongolian hot pot, etc. Wit

by Scott Edwards Losing weight can be as difficult psychologically as it is physically. It can become a struggle if we have to make family meals; eating our own meagre diet whilst still having to prepare tempting fare for the others. How can we improve our lot, and continue to please the family? First off we need to tackle the amount we eat. Whatever food we consume, if we take in less of it we’ll lose weight. I've blogged a lot about how pleasantly surprised I've been to discover a wealth of independent restaurants here. But in my three months here, I've also become a frequent customer of Bob Evans, a regional restaurant chain. I became addicted to the fluffy Bob Evans biscuits from my first visit. And I've found myself heading to Bob Evans for my favorite breakfast (biscuits with honey, fruit cu

Last night, my parents came home with Baylee! I’m sure a lot of you remember me telling you all about Baylee earlier this month, but in case you don’t remember or you just stumbled across my blog, Baylee is my parent’s new golden retriever puppy that they traveled upstate to pick up this week, making a short detour first to Lake George for a small vacation first. I waited up to see Baylee even though my parents didn’t get back until almost midnight last night. We also lost power in our
